Upcoming Events

Greetings Wildcat Band Families,

HAC has grades updated for any assignment turned in up to Friday, September 23rd.

I want to congratulate our incredible musician-athletes on another successful week! Volleyball won both games this week, 8th Grade Football won against Fulbright and Cross Country (XC) placed 2nd and boys Cross Country placed 4th on Wednesday with MANY PR's. Way to go!!!

Yesterday, the Bentonville High School Pride Marching Band participated in the Owasso Invitational Marching Contest earning Outstanding General Effect, Outstanding Visual, and Outstanding Music finishing 1st for class 4A in prelims!! Then, we finished 2nd over all in finals!! Way to go PRIDE!!!!

Monday we will have our Mums delivered and ready for pickup by 2:30 pm. If you arrive before 3:45, please check in through the front office. If you arrive after 3:45 you can pull around to the band room door by the picnic tables to load up. Thank you to everyone who supported a student as we sold everything we had (170 mums)!! This goes a LONG way to helping students pay for spring trips and band fees.

Our band shirts and apparel, and Domino's Cards are scheduled to come in this week so be on the lookout for that.

Wednesday, October 12th is the Jazz Band and 8th Grade Bands' Fall Concert. It begins at 6:30. Students are welcome to stay after school and we will order pizza. They should bring $3 if they want pizza and a bottle of water. Attire for the concert is Band T-shirt and nice jeans/pants. Students not staying after school should arrive no later than 5:45pm.

Friday, October 14th, we will combine with the Lincoln 8th Grade band to play in place of Bentonville Pride sense they will be in St. Louis for the Bands of America Super Regional Competition. If you are in town, please be on the lookout for a possible special volunteer performance opportunity on Sunday, October 16th.

PRIVATE LESSONS ARE AWESOME! They are designed to be fun, engaging, supportive and focused on the individual student.

We have an awesome partnership with Arkansas Music Conservatory where your student can take a lesson or two on US to see what private lessons can do for your band student! We have set aside $1150 for lessons this year. We can also help pay for additional lessons and offset the cost of lessons for families who need financial assistance in this area.

Who should take private lessons:

  • Advanced students who need to be pushed and challenged

  • Students who need some 1-on-1 assistance to learn and master concepts covered in class

  • Students who missed substantial class time due to illness

  • Students who just began playing this year

  • Students who want to get better

  • EVERYONE

To sign up for a free lesson:

  • Contact Mr. Jones so he can track who is taking the exploratory lessons

  • Contact Arkansas Music Conservatory to setup a lesson 479-268-3307 (call) or 479-430-2226 (text)
