Upcoming Events

Greetings Wildcat Band Families,

Welcome to December and the last 13 days of school for the semester! I'm proud of the work and growth every one has shown since August and am looking forward to displaying a small portion of that at the concerts this week. The last day of school is December 20th, students will not bring instruments that day except jazz band since we are performing.

Tuba families need to make plans now on how to get their student's instrument home over the winter break. 7th Grade tubas can be picked up as early as Monday, December 18th at 10:00am and as late as 4:30pm on Wednesday, December 20th.

HUGE Thank you to everyone who stepped up and sold or purchased more poinsettias. As of Saturday morning, all of them have been sold! :) I will work over the next few days to update student financial sheets and send out an update as to what credits everyone has.

Candles will be delivered this week. MUCH easier to get home. :)

As we prepare for the holidays, families often want to get music related gifts for their band student. To help offer some great ideas I have created a list with links to purchase.

Included in the list are some required mouthpieces and ligatures that are needed by the time students are in high school. For families that need assistance, the high school can provide required mouthpieces. However, it is always best for a student to have their own.

You can sometimes find good deals on mouthpieces at www.reverb.com. Just be sure it is the correct model.

IF you happen to be in the market for a step up instrument for your student, there is a GREAT list of brands and models on the Bentonville Pride website and linked here.

Additionally, we will have a step up event with Palen Music in the BHS Band Room on December 14th 6-8pm. No pressure to purchase. Just come and learn more about the process.

More information and how to make an appointment to check it out can be found on the flyer below.

Here is some GREAT information on why getting a step up instrument can help your band student continue to grow and improve.

I have a knack for finding some GREAT deals on step up instruments, so if you are interested please don't hesitate to reach out. However, patience is the key. :)

PRIVATE LESSONS ARE AWESOME! They are designed to be fun, engaging, supportive and focused on the individual student.

We have an awesome partnership with Arkansas Music Conservatory where your student can take a lesson or two on US to see what private lessons can do for your band student!

Who should take private lessons:

  • Advanced students who need to be pushed and challenged

  • Students who need some 1-on-1 assistance to learn and master concepts covered in class

  • Students who missed substantial class time due to illness

  • Students who just began playing this year

  • Students who want to get better

  • EVERYONE

To stay in the know be sure to follow us on your social media platform of choice: Facebook or Instagram - @wjhswildcatband and/or at www.wjhswildcatband.com

If you have any questions or concerns, please never hesitate to reach out. We are partners in your student's growth and need to work together for them to be as successful as possible.

Musically Yours,
