Upcoming Events

Greetings Wildcat Band Families,

Congratulations to the Jazz Cats and the 8t Grade Band on stellar performances Wednesday at our Fall Concert!!! If you missed it, you can check it out here, along with some awesome pictures taken by Mrs. Angela Hopkins. Thank you Mrs. Hopkins for sharing the recordings and pictures with us!

After many requests we have reopened our apparel store for hoodies and the plain Wildcat T-shirt. If you are interested in purchasing one, the store closes Nov. 1st at 11:59pm.

The pep band absolutely BLEW IT OUT OF THE WATER with our performance with Lincoln and Fulbright Friday night! We had multiple administrators, teachers, Tiger fans, Fayetteville Fans, coaches and first responders mention how the group didn't sound like an 8th grade band and if they didn't know BHS Band was gone that thought we were them! You can check out all sorts of photos and videos from the evening on our instagram and facebook pages. HUGE thank you to all the parents, friends and family members who volunteered in the concession stands and to Angela Hopkins and Christian Hopkins for helping pick up the pizza and feed the band members!

MONUMENTAL CONGRATULATIONS to the Bentonville Pride Marching Band on earning 3rd Place at the Bands of America Super Regional Tournament at St. Louis this past weekend!!! Not only did we beat our highest placement of 8th place but we beat all of our previous scores with an 88.95! THIS.IS.HUGE!!! We competed against several of the BEST band programs in the country and was only 4 points away from Broken Arrow who earned 1st Place.

Your student is part of something bigger than themselves. A program that develops self confidence, discipline, leadership skills, kindness and incredible musicians. It truly is awe inspiring!

THIS Tuesday, (yes during fall break) you have an opportunity to watch the Bentonville Pride's award winning show at the ASBOA Region VI Marching Assessment that will be held at Rogers High School. We perform at 7:15pm. Admission is free. Be sure to arrive early for good seats. It is a performance you WON'T want to miss!

This coming Friday, October 21st is Senior Night at the BHS v. Rogers Football Game. Because of this, we are pleading with our junior high band family to sign up to work concessions so that the high school parents can fully participate and enjoy the evening honoring their senior band student. In just a few short years it will be your band student's senior year and I KNOW you will hope that the junior high parents will step up so you can enjoy the evening with your senior. :) Please please PLEASE sign up for a shift. It is a lot of fun, easy, awesome way to get plugged in to meet veteran band parents and a great way to earn up to $50 towards your student's band related expenses.. ($25/parent or guardian who signs up to work up to 2 per student). SIGN UP HERE.

PRIVATE LESSONS ARE AWESOME! They are designed to be fun, engaging, supportive and focused on the individual student.

We have an awesome partnership with Arkansas Music Conservatory where your student can take a lesson or two on US to see what private lessons can do for your band student! We have set aside $1150 for lessons this year. We can also help pay for additional lessons and offset the cost of lessons for families who need financial assistance in this area.

Who should take private lessons:

  • Advanced students who need to be pushed and challenged

  • Students who need some 1-on-1 assistance to learn and master concepts covered in class

  • Students who missed substantial class time due to illness

  • Students who just began playing this year

  • Students who want to get better

  • EVERYONE

To sign up for a free lesson:

  • Contact Mr. Jones so he can track who is taking the exploratory lessons

  • Contact Arkansas Music Conservatory to setup a lesson 479-268-3307 (call) or 479-430-2226 (text)

To stay in the know be sure to follow us on your social media platform of choice: Facebook or Instagram - @wjhswildcatband and/or at www.wjhswildcatband.com
